1.7m Afghans residing illegally in Pakistan

A total of 4.4 million Afghans are residing across Pakistan, according to the data available with the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The number of Afghans living in Pakistan having proof of registration documents is about 1 million.
A total of 850000 Afghans residing in Pakistan have Afghanistan’s cards, the estimates state, adding that more than 1.70 million Afghans are living ILLEGALLY.
The crackdown on illegal residents will begin from November 1
The data showed 22,000 illegally residing foreigners have been identified in Islamabad and the capital police chief issued directives to step up checking of foreigners' data
So far, the Islamabad police have checked 1,100 foreigners and they arrested 458 illegal Afghans and other foreigners.
Special teams have also been formed for the identification of foreigners and proof of their legal documents.
Caretaker Minister for Interior Sarfraz Bugti said the Apex Committee unveiled a comprehensive series of decisions designed to enhance security, curb illegal activities, and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law
The security authorities underscored the pressing need for enhanced border security measures in light of these events.
The interior minister said foreign nationals languishing illegally in the country are being given a deadline of Nov 1 to leave Pakistan voluntarily.
He said the govt will take action against the illegal foreign nationals and they will be deported after the 1st of Nov.
The minister said that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
