PTI’s protest: Govt decides to seal off Islamabad, Rangers deployed in Red Zone

Amid PTI’s protests call in Islamabad on Friday, the federal government has decided to seal off the entire capital and Red Zone has been completely locked down and handed over to Rangers for security while from Oct 5, the security of the Red Zone will be handed over to the Army, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


According to inside information, in order to counter PTI protestors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s areas, entry points will be sealed by containers at the entry points in Taxila and Chungi NO 26 in twin Cities.


Moreover, Faizabad, Sector I8, IJP Road, Double Road, Margalla Road will also be closed with the help of containers and containers has also been delivered at Sangjani, Faizabad, G 11, Golra Mor flyover and underpass.


Motorway has been closed for all types of traffic from Attock’s Chhach Interchange, Harupal, Burhan Interchange, Katti Pahari and Ghazi Interchange. And containers have been fixed to stop PTI convoys’ entry into Punjab from KP.


Meanwhile Punjab police and Capital city police have launched crackdown against PTI leaders and workers. Islamabad Police arrested 63 Afghan citizens who were PTI supporters. The arrests were made from Bahara Kahu and Gardu Nawah. Iron rods, stones and pebbles were recovered from the their possession and a case was also registered against the held Afghans.
