Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) Chairman Akhtar Mengal has announced his resignation from the National Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing media men along with Mehmood Khan Achakzai outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday, Akhtar Mengal said “Nobody listens to us. No one is with us. No one is sincere with us.”
Mengal said “Balochistan is not slipping away from your hands rather it has slipped away from your hands.”
He further said he did not even take his party into confidence regarding his resignation from the National Assembly.
“These people have no interest on the issue of Balochistan where people are being killed. Whenever I tried to speak on the matter I was blacked out. Sitting in such a assembly where you are not heeded is not useful,” Mengal maintained.
Mengal who was elected MNA from NA-256 Khuzdar told the audience “Please listen to me even if you are not agreed. I express no-confidence in the State, president and the prime minister. You wanna kill me, go ahead but listen to me first.”
Mengal said his one resignation would not make any difference to the assembly but he had removed his “part” from the foundation of this system. “Balochistan is being considered a colony,” he added.
“My 65,000 voters would not be happy with me but I offer my apology to them,” he said and added “Whenever they need votes they come running to Akhtar Mengal.”
Later, Akhtar Mengal submitted his resignation at the National Assembly Secretariat.
