The Pakistan cricket team is set to participate in a series of fitness tests this week, which will play a crucial role in determining the allocation of new central contracts to players, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to sources, the fitness tests for centrally contracted players are scheduled for September 7 and 8 in Lahore.
The players who are under consideration for central contracts have been instructed via messages to report to Lahore on September 6.
Two days ago, similar fitness tests were conducted for domestic players in Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi.
The fitness evaluations will include a variety of physical exercises such as sprints, squats, 1A3 tests, and gym sessions.
These assessments will play a key role in determining which players meet the required fitness standards and, consequently, who will be awarded central contracts.
After completing the fitness tests, centrally contracted players are expected to report to Faisalabad on the night of September 8.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is keen to ensure that only those players who meet the rigorous fitness criteria will be granted central contracts.
