Vaccine reaches Pakistan amid rise in lumpy skin disease cases

The vaccine to cure lumpy skin disease in cattle has reached Pakistan, said Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Abdul Bari Pitafi while addressing the inaugural ceremony of administering the vaccine on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a rise in the cases of the lumpy skin disease was reported in Sindh as the number of the infected animals has reached 32,981 in the province.
According to the Sindh Livestock Department, 327 cattle heads have died due to the lumpy virus.
“As many as 14,679 animals are currently infected with the virus, whereas, the number of the animals that have recovered from the disease is 17,975,” it added.
