KP govt halts social media influencers’ expenses

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has halted pay and other expenditures of more than 11,00 social media influencers hired by the previous PTI government, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification, the interim government is responsible for holding free and fair polls thus the influencers have nothing to do with it.
The election commission has also banned new projects, recruitment, etc, it said, adding that it does not go for the wastages of public money, time, and resources.
The social media trolls recruited in the information department on the contract were still being paid Rs25,000 per month each.
