Amidst the ongoing load shedding in Bannu, an angry mob in the city staged an intensified protest and forcibly switched on feeders at two grid stations, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.

According to the spokesperson from (Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), dozens of protesters stormed the Bannu Grid and Karam Garhi Grid stations last night and forcefully turned on the feeders.

The PESCO spokesperson said it has become routine for the protesters to assault the staff at the grid stations.

He added that the footage of the close circuit television (CCTV) cameras showed protesters using metal tools to switch on the feeders, which was a highly dangerous act that could lead to severe accidents.

The spokesperson also noted that sometimes feeders are shut down for maintenance purposes, and forcefully turning them on during such times can result in serious harm to the staff.

He said all feeders linked to the Bannu Grid Station are categorised as high-loss feeders, and due to the high losses, the duration of load management on these feeders is extended.

The spokesperson also announced that PESCO is taking legal action against the protesters.
