New Gwadar International Airport is likely to be made operational from August 14 and in this regard, preparations have been completed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sources the soft launch of News Gwadar International Airport will probably be done by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
A special Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight from Karachi will land at Karachi Gwadar International Airport as the first flight, sources said.
Sources said the Gwadar International Airport is estimated to cost Rs54.98 billion.
The runways of Gwadar International Airport have been built according to international standards.
Other large aircraft including Airbus 380 can also land at Gwadar International Airport.
Gwadar International Airport is a major project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The airport has been constructed by the Civil Aviation Authority in collaboration with China.
