Government and private schools in Punjab have not yet implemented the orders of their closure for three days a week amid severe smog in the province despite direction by Lahore High Court (LHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Punjab School Education Department is of the view that it has not received written orders from the court so far therefore schools are operating as per the old pattern.

It is pertinent to mention here that on December 2, 2022, LHC ordered government-run and private-run schools to keep educational institutions close for three days a week to protect students from the fatal effects of smog.

Meanwhile, the smog situation has aggravated in the big cities of Punjab and is affecting the residents severely. Meanwhile, Lahore topped the global list of cities with the highest air pollution level.
