Apart from expression of reservations by the coalition allies, voices of dissent have also begun to rise from within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
During a session of the NA Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue, different PTI leaders came out with guns blazing against their own government.
At the meeting chaired of MNA Faizullah Kamoka, PTI Political Adviser (North Punjab) and MPA Zafar Sandhu came down hard on the government for its policies.
“Instead of playing ‘thief-police game’ and calling everybody a robber, the government should detect the thieves within the (ruling) party and focus on performance,” Kamoka said.
“Inflation is at highest-ever level and people are clamouring for flour and sugar,” he regretted. He said the government would have to take stock of the situation.
He and other irate PTI lawmakers were of the view that the bureaucracy does not want to let the government run the country and it has destroyed the businessmen and their businesses through misguiding the ministers.
“All the people in meeting had come here after growing tired of visiting every office and officer,” they held.
