The Indian SpiceJet plane left Karachi for Dubai carrying passengers after spending 12 hours in Pakistan on Tuesday night.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Indian air travellers were treated to food and tea during their stay in Pakistan.
The Indian passenger plane made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport after developing a technical glitch on Tuesday morning.
According to the airport sources, the pilot of a Dubai-bound Indian Boeing 737 contacted and sought help from the control tower at Karachi Airport after the plane developed a technical fault.
The control tower responded quickly and helped the plane land safely at the airport. It is reported that the plane was carrying as many as 100 passengers on board.
However, none of the passengers was allowed to leave the plane at the airport. It was the Flight SG-11 of SpiceJet that was heading towards Dubai from Delhi.
In March 2021, another Indian plane flying from Sharjah to Lucknow had made an emergency landing at Karachi after one of the passengers aboard fell sick.
IndiGo airlines flight number 6E1412 travelling from Sharjah to Lucknow had entered Pakistani airspace via Iran and a passenger had fallen ill when the jet was in Pakistani airspace.
Once the passenger fell ill, the captain contacted the air traffic control of Karachi Airport and requested an emergency landing on humanitarian grounds.
Once the request was granted, the airliner had made an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. However, the 67-year-old passenger, Habibur Rehman, had already passed away on the plane.
The Pakistani medical team had prescribed that the passenger had passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
