Seven children drown in River Indus near Thatta

Seven children drowned in River Indus near Thatta on Friday as they were swimming to escape from the heat and humid weather, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The children belonged to the Mari community. The bodies of the children have been shifted to the village in Jharak area of Thatta.

According to police, the seven children were aged between 6-10 years. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah sought a report on the matter from Chief Commissioner Hyderabad.

It is pertinent to mention that Sindh has been experiencing soaring temperatures and spells of heat waves from the last two weeks. Such incidents are common in southern Punjab and interior Sindh during the hot summer.
