SC announces two months of summer vacation from July 15

The Supreme Court has issued a notification that the summer vacation will be for two months instead of three months this year, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the notification, the summer vacation will be started from July 15 to the second week of September but the hearing of important cases will continue during these vacations.
The notification said Supreme Court judges can go on vacation for one month instead of two months now.
The notification said the offices of the court shall remain open, except on public holidays; and urgent cases, date by court cases, criminal cases and any case as directed by the committee shall be fixed before available branches.
As per the notification, in view of the considerable backlog of cases, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has directed that summer vacations be curtailed by one month, therefore, summer vacation shall commence on Monday, 15 July 2024, instead of 15 June 2024.
