We all know how annoying it is to stay no cell phone storage even more so if you don’t have one of the latest technologies and it only supports a few humble files so that it looks like it’s going to explode into the air.

WhatsApp is a very practical application that allows us to communicate simultaneously with our contacts, set up group chats, make voice and video calls, and other functions that the platform has been incorporating over time. But it has a functional drawback – which we can solve.

Beyond its benefits, which are many, the instant messaging app does not get along very well with low-capacity cell phones. Not only do photos, videos, and other files take up space, but the system itself usually downloads them automatically.

But if this happens to you, calm down. With this simple change in settings you won’t have to worry. It should be noted that you can have space for all conversations or for some specific ones.

You may have noticed that the files that reach you are automatically saved on your cell phone and the worst recipients are WhatsApp groups. We explain why it happens. Since the option of “Visibility of media files” is active by default, both on iOS (iPhone) and Android phones, received files are saved without asking, fully automatically.

·         Enter the WhatsApp settings, in the three points at the top of the screen.

·         Login to Settings and select the option chat.

·         Disable option “Visibility of media files” which indicates that the audiovisual content is automatically downloaded to the phone gallery.

WhatsApp: apply it only in certain chats

Although you can do it in a general way with all the chats of the instant messaging application, you can also discriminate and apply it only for a specific chat, even for groups where the function looks most useful.

To achieve this, the steps do not become much more complex. You will have to go to the specific conversation, click on the three points and, later, on see the “Group Information” (or see contact, if it is an individual chat). From there click on “Visibility of media files” and choose “No” so they don’t show up in the gallery.–oicanadian.com
