The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an opposition parties’ alliance, has decided to give the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government a tough time following the appearance of names of some federal ministers in the Pandora Leaks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Sources told 24News that according to the five-point agenda of a meeting of the alliance to be held on October 11, with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief and PDM President Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the chair, the ministers whose names appeared in the Leaks would be urged to step down from their posts until investigations into their cases were complete.

Furthermore, sources added, a proposal for the formation of a high-powered independent commission to probe the cases of these ministers would also be taken up for discussion at the meeting.

Apart from that Maulana Fazl had sought suggestions from the opposition leaders for drafting terms of reference (TORs) for investigations into these cases, they told 24News.

The alliance leaders would chalk out the strategy with respect to rising inflation in the country and electoral reforms.

The government’s Afghan policy and much-talked-about talks with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) will also come under scrutiny at the meeting, sources elaborated.

Sources further said that the opposition leaders would also fix dates of PDM’s public gatherings to be held in November and December besides taking up the issue of electronic voting machines (EVMs).

Apart from that, they disclosed, the schedule of the road caravan would also be prepared at the huddle.
