Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked his cabinet members — who were mentioned in the Pandora Papers — to clear their names and directed the probe cell for the early completion of its task, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The prime minister was chairing a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad on Tuesday.

PM Khan told his cabinet members that anyone who has been mentioned in the Pandora Papers has to clear his name.

It is reported after the completion of the probe, big decisions are expected.

General polls under new census

The federal cabinet has also decided to hold the next general elections under new population census.

MQM Pakistan through their party ministers in the cabinet — Law Minister Farogh Naseem and Aminul Haq — has opposed few proposals of the new population census.

Both demanded that the census should adopt a de facto process.

Aminul Haq said each citizen should be counted where he or she would be residing at the time of the census.

It is pertinent to mention here that all members of the MQM Pakistan voted in support of the new population census.

Sources said the cabinet has also approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army during census counting.

The cabinet discussed the overall political and economic situation of the country.

Chairman NAB extension

The federal cabinet did not discuss the extension of the NAB Chairman.
