Army colonel among 6 soldiers martyred, 6 terrorists killed in Waziristan clash

Six Pakistan Army soldiers including a senior officer were martyred while six terrorists were killed in a fierce clash with security forces in North Waziristan District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to an ISPR statement released on Saturday, as a result of the gunbattle six Army soldiers including Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat embraced martyrdom.
The other martyred troops were identified as Sepoy Jamil Ahmad, Lance Naik Yousuf Ali, Lance Naik Shahidullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman and Muhammadullah.
According to the ISPR statement, six Khwarij were killed by security forces in Spinwam area of North Waziristan.
According to ISPR, during the intense exchange of fire Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat, a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom along with his five men.
Sanitization operation was being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji in the area.
PM Shehbaz vows to crush terrorism
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday commended the security forces for killing six Khawarij terrorists in a successful operation in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan.
The prime minister paid tribute to Lt Colonel Muhammad Shaukat, Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, Lance Naik Yousaf, and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed, who embraced martyrdom while bravely confronting the terrorists.
In a statement, the prime minister prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks in Jannah and expressed condolences to their families. The entire nation salutes the martyrs, the prime minister added.
He said the Pakistan Army had made unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said the entire nation pays tribute to the martyrs.
Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the determination to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.
Mohsin Naqvi pays glowing tribute Army officers
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid heartfelt tributes to 43-year-old Lt-Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat, who belonged to Faisalabad, and five soldiers who were martyred while bravely confronting the terrorist group Khwarij in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan on Saturday.
In a statement, Naqvi honoured their courage and sacrifice, commending them for laying down their lives in defence of the nation. “Martyr Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat and five soldiers sacrificed their lives for the secure future of the nation,” Naqvi remarked, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice in the face of adversity.
The soldiers were engaged in a fierce battle with Khawarij militants, known for their brutal tactics when they were martyred.
Naqvi emphasized that the entire nation stands indebted to these heroes. “The nation will always remember the great sacrifices of Martyr Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat and other martyrs,” he said, ensuring their legacy will remain etched in the hearts of the Pakistani people.
Two terrorists slain in security forces’ IBO in Swat
Two terrorists were killed and another injured in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) by security forces in Swat Valley.
According to an ISPR statement released on Saturday morning, two terrorists were killed in the IBO which was carried out in Swat area of Charbagh between the night of October 4 and 5.
The slain terrorists included ring leader Attaullah alias Mehran.
The injured terrorist was arrested by the security forces personnel.
Attaullah alian Mehran was involved in targeting convoys of foreign dignitaries and other terrorist activities.
The security forces personnel were now carrying out a sanitization operation in the area to trace any other terrorists.
