Jamiat Ulema Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has writen a letter to Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa
In the letter, Fazl appealed to the top judge to quickly deal with the pleas of various banks against the Federal Sharia Court's decision to abolish the interest system.
In the judgment of the Federal Sharia Court last year, the financial system had been ordered to be interest-free within five years, he wrote.
He added that the appeals filed by various banks against the decision should be disposed of quickly so that the government could take steps to create an interest-free financial structure.
Commending the CJP’s decision on the finality of prophethood, the JUI chief said the decision is commendable and the Muslims of Pakistan will be fully satisfied by issuing a detailed decision soon.
