Emphasizing that the nation needed religious scholars’ guidance in the war on terror, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Wednesday that the government would soon initiate consultations with them so that the desired results could be achieved, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to Central Ruet Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, who called on him the minister said that terrorists had no religion. “Soon the nationwide campaign to take Ulema, belonging to all sects, on board on the war will kick off in order to make the narrative against terrorism more effective,” he said, and added, “Because this war is essential for the country’s existence.”

The minister said that religious scholars had always played their role in the development of the country. “The fact is that Pakistan’s enemies want to destroy national unity by spreading chaos in the society.”

“However, we all will foil the nefarious designs of our enemies,” he vowed.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Khabeer said that ‘Paigham-e-Pakistan’ is that narrative under which terrorism, extremism and sectarianism have been forbidden.

He said the entire nation stood by the armed forces and security agencies of the country for the elimination of terrorism.

Maulana Khabeer also praised Naqvi for his services to peace in the country.
