CCI unanimously stamps 2023 census results

The Council of Common Interests (CCI) has unanimously approved the results of seventh digital census of 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have unanimously stamped the census results during the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The MQM gave the power of the census’ approval to the prime minister.
Now the general elections will be held as per the delimitations to be drawn according to the new census result and consequently, the polls may be delayed by three to four months now.
Chief ministers of all four provinces, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Federal Minister Naveed Qamar, and the federal secretaries of the respective ministries participated in the meeting.
The Ministry of Planning briefed the Council on Common Interests on the new Digital Census and presented the results of the Digital Census and Household Census.
Earlier, the CCI meeting which was due to start at 11:00 am was deferred due to loack of quorum..
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened the CCI meeting for the approval of new census. But the meeting did not take place as Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo could not reach the venue as his flight got delayed.
Bizenjo managed to reach the PM House Saturday afternoon after which the meeting resumes and gave its nod to the census outcome.
