A UK court found a British-Pakistani TikTok and her mother guilty of murder in a car crash case, reports said on Saturday.
During a three-month trial, the court heard harrowing details of two young men’s killings.
The 24-year-old TikToker and her mother 46-year-old Ansreen Bukhari have been convicted of orchestrating a plot to kill 21-year-old Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin in in a road accident in February 2022.
The court learned that Saqib Hussain threatened to expose an affair he had with Ansreen Bukhari. Mahek Bukhari used her social media presence to meet Saqib Hussain.
Saqib and Hashim were on their way when their car was pursued and forced off the road, leading to a crash that claimed their lives.
The jury held 28-hour deliberation before delivering the verdict. As the court prepares for sentencing Mahek Bukhari and her mother on September 1st, Judge Timothy Spencer KC emphasised the seriousness of the crime and the impending punishment.
