National kitty suffers colossal loss in wake of stoppage of parcel booking for USA

The stoppage of bookings of parcels for the USA by the Pakistan Post has resulted in the loss of millions of dollars to the national exchequer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The development has led to the cancellation of orders from Pakistani exporters who send their items abroad through e-commerce, thus bringing the sale of Pakistani products in the USA almost to a halt.   

However, the booking of parcels for the UK and other countries continues.

Sources in the Pakistan Post have told 24News that the reason for the stoppage of bookings is the non-payment of dues to the American shipping companies.   

On the other hand, small traders and e-commerce sellers have demanded the government ensure the resumption of the supply of goods to the USA by the Pakistan Post.
