Punjab govt hands Rs500,000 to German tourist robbed on road near Lahore airport

Interior Secretary Punjab Noorul Amin Mengal met German tourist Berg Florine (27) who was robbed at gunpoint when he was camping near the airport.
On behalf of the chief minister, the assistance of Rs500,000 was given to the German tourist.
The Punjab authorities have launched a hunt for the culprits too.
Speaking on the occasion, the foreign tourist said Pakistanis are very loving and lively people.
He added: “Tourists can encounter criminals in any country. I can never forget the way the Punjab government and the people supported me.
“Pakistan is my favorite country and I would like to come here again.
“Along with the regional beauty of Pakistan, the beauty of the hearts of the people here is also exemplary.”
The home secretary said: “All tourists coming to Pakistan are our guests and measures are being taken for their security and safety.
He added: “Police are tracing the robbers with the help of modern technology.
The Lahore police will soon arrest the accused.
The German tourist had reached Pakistan via Central Asia and China on a bicycle
