Sindh govt fixes 5 job quota for special persons in private sector

The Sindh government has taken a revolutionary step by enhancing the employment quota of special persons by up to five percent in the private sector in correspondence with government jobs.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday, the government of Sindh has established a Special Persons Protection Authority for the welfare of the special persons in the province.
According to the sources, the Sindh government issued directions to the private sector including seminal government, autonomous institutions, multinationals, and companies for playing its due role by providing 5 percent jobs as per quota to disabled persons in order to create a better society.
The government has asked all the provincial public departments to implement the quota in letter and spirit for people with disabilities.
A fine will be imposed on the institutions that do not implement the five percent quota, it reads.
In this regard, the government has formed ‘Special Persons Protection Authority’. A ten-member board of directors has also been established.
The Provincial Secretary Law, Secretary Finance, Secretary Human Rights, Director General Department of Special Persons, Director I&C and four private persons are included in the board of directors of the authority.
The chairman of the board is appointed as the secretary for the department of special persons.
Prof Dr Nabila Najam Soomro, Haq Nawaz Talpur, Javed Raees, and Farhat Rasheed will be included in the board as private members.
The Board of Directors will form the structure of the Special Persons Protection Authority. The Board of Directors shall operate the system of authority on a permanent basis.
