In a move to strengthen the tax network, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated a comprehensive strategy to bring non-filers into the tax net, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this regard, the FBR has directed 145 government and non-government organizations to furnish real-time data.
The notification issued by the FBR has reached federal and provincial institutions, urging them to seamlessly connect with the newly introduced radar system by January 15.
This radar system, founded on cutting-edge information technology, is designed to collect and provide data on ownership, assets, and economic transactions of connected institutions.
Crucial instructions have been dispatched to entities ranging from the Accountant General and Aviation Division to the Controller General, emphasizing the imperative to integrate with the radar system.
Furthermore, ministries including Finance, Energy, External Affairs, Power Division, and Military establishments, among others, have been expressly directed to establish a connection.
The sweeping directive extends to regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and even housing societies like DHA, Bahria Town to connect with radar.
Stock exchanges, SECP, FIA, State Bank, Commercial Banks, Micro Finance Banks, Asset Management Funds, Co-operative Housing Societies, and prominent organizations like Aga Khan Development Network, Abad, Pasha, and Chambers of Commerce are all included in the mandate.
