Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that a rally is being held at Tarnol on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a joint press conference in Islamabad, PTI information secretary Raoof Hasan and senior advocate Shoaib Shaheen expressed deep concerns regarding state oppression and judicial accountability against the party.
He said that after much effort, we succeeded in getting the NOC from the Islamabad administration to hold the rally that would not be merely as a PTI gathering but as part of a broader grand opposition alliance against a puppet government.
Hasan also referenced a recent communication from the PTI founding chairman Imran Khan, who, despite being incarcerated, had spoken to the media.
Expressing deep skepticism towards the Chief Justice, Hasan remarked, "No good can be expected from the CJP."
"Our cases should be heard by someone else," he asserted.
Shoaib Shaheen pointed out, "The whole world saw that the Chief Justice took away the mark of the bat from us."
Shaheen revealed that PTI Islamabad president Aamir Mughal was arrested from the DC office, an act he labeled as contempt of court.
"We have been trying to get permission for a rally for three to four months," he added, highlighting the bureaucratic hurdles they faced.
Shaheen quoted the founding chairman's words: "The death is better than slavery of today’s Yazid,".
Shaheen expressed his commitment to making the upcoming Tarnol meeting a resounding success.
Criticizing the current government, he stated, "Today's puppet government has been imposed on us." He predicted a significant shift post-October, hinting at the historical judgment awaiting the Chief Justice.
"After October, the Chief Justice will be a part of history. You will see in what words history will remember you," he proclaimed.
Addressing the bias against their leader, Imran Khan, Shaheen accused the judiciary of making decisions without due diligence.
He lamented the filing of cases against 4,700 of their supporters under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance, describing it as a targeted attack against their political movement.
Both vowed to seek justice and uphold democratic values amidst the challenging political climate in Pakistan.
They also expressed concerns over the mysterious disappearance of Rizwan Ahmed.
Rauf Hasan announced the unsettling news of Rizwan Ahmed's disappearance, stating, "Rizwan Ahmed has gone missing since this morning. Now we know that he is with the FIA.
Hasan condemned this act, describing it as a manifestation of state fascism, unprecedented in Pakistan's 76-year history.
He emphasized the gravity of the situation, promising to approach the court to ensure Ahmed's recovery.
