Consensus failed to develop between the trade bodies in the sprawling city of Karachi over extending market timings by two hours from 6pm to 8pm, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Although, Traders Action Committee postponed the opening of shops till 8pm till Monday, another faction of the traders insisted on implementing the time till 8pm at the earliest.

Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah along with Karachi Commissioner reached Karachi Action Committee office-bearers and negotiated with them.

The minister acknowledged the concerns of traders but appealed to postpone their final decision about market timings till Monday (June 7).

Karachi Action Committee Convener Muhammad Rizwan announced that traders will wait till Monday for the final decision about markets and shops timings.

The Sindh government assured Karachi traders that their demands will be discussed in the Task Force meeting related to Covid-19 restriction and implementation.
