The All Government Employees Grand Alliance has announced staging a protest in front of Parliament House on May 12 to mount pressure on the government to withdraw its six-day work orders.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the announcement came after the alliance met with Chief Coordinator Rehman Ali Bajwa in the chair Friday.
The employees of federal ministries, departments, and divisions will participate in the peaceful protest.
During the meeting, the participants okayed holding meetings with senior officials to get their demands met while social and mainstream media will be approached to muster support and present their point of view.
Their demands include restoration of weekends, increase in salary, publishing the report of the Pay and Pension Commission, and resolutions of issues like time scale promotion.
Last month too, the federal government employees announced a protest in front of the parliament against the orders.
