The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has acquitted another former federal minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in a case of selling expensive drugs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, the anti-graft body on Saturday gave a clean chit to former federal minister Amir Mehmood Kiyani who belongs to the ruling PTI in a case of selling medicines at exorbitant prices.

The bureau instead of releasing the press release of Mr Kiyani’s acquittal to the media, has contended to publish it only on its website.

Yesterday, the National Accountability Bureau stopped inquiry against former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and incumbent Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak regarding Malam Jabba leasing scandal.

An accountability court in Peshawar on Friday accepted the NAB’s plea to halt the inquiry against Pervaiz Khattak.

The NAB had launched an inquiry against Pervaiz Khattak, current KP CM Mahmood Khan, Atif Khan, Senator Mohsin and others in 2015 over their alleged involvement in the scandal.

It may be recalled that former chief minister KP Pervez Khattak, who is currently serving as Defence Minister, had appeared before the NAB in Malam Jabba’s land leasing case.

An alleged illegal lease of 275 acres of Forest Department land in Malam Jabba had emerged as a mega scandal in the KP.
