At meeting wit Iranian FM, PM Shehbaz calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan's desire to strengthen its relations with Iran.
Talking to Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who called on him at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad, Sharif highlighted the importance of having regular high-level exchanges to strengthen the bilateral relations. He welcomed Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on his first official visit of Pakistan as foreign minister of Iran.
On this occasion, Sharif sent his sincerest regards and wishes to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Massoud Pezeshkian.
At the meeting, the worrying situation in the Middle East region came under discussion. Reaffirming Pakistan's support to the Palestinian people in their just struggle for self-determination and statehood, Sharif expressed his grave concern over the ongoing Israeli genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people.
Sharif called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, provision of unhindered humanitarian assistance and, above all, grant of the inalienable right to self-determination to the Palestinian people, as guaranteed to them by the relevant resolutions of the UN, as well as OIC. He reiterated his condemnation of the Israeli attack on Iran on August 26 and reaffirmed his support for Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister about Pakistan's principled position and briefed him on Iran's perspective regarding the situation in the region.
