Sugar prices drop after PM Kakar's self-monitoring initiative

Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has launched a self-monitoring initiative to bring down the soaring prices of sugar in the country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PM Kakar has been holding daily meetings with the Interior Minister, Finance Minister, FBR and security agencies to review the situation and take action against the sugar mafia.
According to a briefing given to the PM, the prices of sugar have fallen from Rs230 per kilogram to Rs178 per kilogram as a result of the efforts of the provincial governments, security agencies and related departments.
The PM was also informed about the FC's efforts to foil an attempt to smuggle sugar into Afghanistan.
PM Kakar said he would not allow anyone to rob the people and assured to hold accountable the mafia that loots the people.
