A security official Friday embraced martyrdom in a terrorist attack in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

ASI Sahir Khan and other security officials were in a car on Yar Hussain Road when terrorists targeted them with a hand grenade.

Sahir embraced martyrdom and another two cops sustained serious injuries. The injured are identified as Ijaz and Gul Naseeb.

The funeral prayer of Sahir Khan was held in Shah Mansoor Police Line.

KP IGP, DIG and other key figures attended the funeral.

The attack comes a day after KP Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan presided over a meeting on law and order in the province. T

he meeting was briefed that 140 terror hits were reported in the ongoing year and law enforcement agencies were the target in most of these strikes.

Expressing concern over attacks on police personnel, the chief minister issued directives for stepping up efforts for maintaining the writ of the government.
