ECNEC approves Rs217 billion projects

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Monday approved seven development projects worth Rs217 billion.
The ECNEC meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, provincial ministers and federal secretaries.
According to a press release issued after the meeting, the meeting approved expansion in the scope of the irrigation wing of the Sindh Emergency Flood Restoration Project.
The committee approved review of the CAREC Corridor Road Infrastructure Project in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The committee approved the revised scope of the Rs25.4 billion Karachi Water Supply and Sewerage Improvement Project.
The committee also approved the World Bank-funded GRADES project, which is aimed at improving attendance and learning at Punjab schools.
