Polio workers protest against non-payment of salaries in Lahore

Anti-polio workers on Saturdaystaged a protest demonstration against non-payment of their salaries and overtime dues for performing additional duties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Polio workers gathered outside the office of DDO Health in Township area of Lahore and shouted slogans against the concerned officers for non-payment of 4-month salaries.
The polio workers threatened that if their salaries and other due were not cleared, they will ultimately boycott anti-polio drive on April 29, 2024 in Punjab.
The protestors told media that they were without salaries during the last four months, adding that polio workers were not given payments of the special duties during coronavirus and national census which was held last year.
They claimed that all of their payments have come in the accounts of the department, but their incompetent officers were not willing to pay the workers.
