The insurance for the injured and families of the deceased in the train wreck might be provided by the Railway instead of the Insurance companies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The provision of insurance to the injured and the families of the deceased in the train wreck was reported uncertain as there is no contract between the railway authority and any insurance company. Despite more than four months passed, the Chief Marketing Manager's office could not conclude an agreement with the insurance company. However, the insurance fees were being charged to the tickets from the passengers while there existed no contract with the company concerning the insurance.
The Pakistan railways and the insurance company have failed to decide the contract terms because of the poor performance and incompetence of the former Chief Marketing Manager.
In case of an accident, Rs1.5 million are paid to the families of the deceased as insurance. Whereas, the injured are paid insurance ranging from Rs50000 to Rs300000 depending upon the severity of the injuries.
The Insurance paid to the families of the deceased and the injured in the Nawabshah train accident is possibly to be paid from the funds Railway Authorities collected from the Insurance fee added in the tickets instead of being compensated by the insurance company.
