Pakistan’s hero Arshad Nadeem has fired a solid 86.59-meter throw to land in third place in the Olympics men’s javelin throw qualifier at the Stade de France on Tuesday, cruising into the final which will take place on on Thursday (August 8) night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Arshad Nadeem’s season-best throw on his opening attempt has fuelled Pakistan’s hopes for an Olympic medal after his fifth place finish at Tokyo 2020.
Reigning Olympic and world champion India’s Neeraj Chopra leads the field with a massive 89.34-meter throw, a season best.
Grenada’s Anderson Peters joined his South Asian counterparts in the finals with an 88.63m first attempt. Four athletes from the Group A qualification round had already moved to Thursday night’s final.
