Punjab government joins hands with World Bank to eradicate poverty and promote economic and social development in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The World Bank delegation under the chair of Director Najy Benhassine called on Punjab Senior Minister Marriyuym Aurangzeb to discuss cooperation in various areas.

Besides Senior Minister, the provincial ministers of education, health, industry, agriculture, local government, irrigation participated in the meeting.

'Country Framework' is an international program of the World Bank in which the global lenders partners with country of the province to boost growth in agriculture, health and education. Punjab government’s inclusion in the World Bank's special program 2024-2027 aims at accelerating the overall development in agriculture, health, education, IT, youth employment and skills.

During the meeting, Punjab Senior Minister said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the largest and comprehensive program to improve the overall health system in the province. She said 300 health centers and 250 primary health centers in villages were being upgraded as per international standards.

Marriyum Auragzeb said that be it village or city, government treatment center will ensure the supply of doctors, medicine, medical staff and machinery.

She said Punjab government with the help of world Bank wanted to train lakhs of Punjab's youth in IT and various skills.

Senior Provincial Ministersaid by giving laptops to the youth, IT revolution will open the doors of education and employment. She said Punjab government was offering Kisan Card to farmers while agri tubewells were being shifted on solar.

On the occasion, WB Country Director appreciated the vision of Punjab government regarding economic, social and economic development. WB Country Director assured full cooperation and inclusive partnership with Pakistan.
