The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Wednesday submitted its reply to the court regarding the prohibited funding case against PTI chief Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In November, the Lahore High Court (LHC) restricted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from harassing PTI chief Imran Khan
in an alleged prohibited funding case opened against him.
The court ordered the FIA and other parties to submit their responses at the next hearing on Dec 7.
The FIA submitted a four-page reply saying the PTI's bank accounts were opened with the signature of the party's top leadership, Imran Khan. “Imran Khan's signature, and PTI's letterhead were used in the account opening,” it said adding that a call-up notice was issued to Imran Khan on this basis.
It further contended that the account was being operated at the Gulab Devi branch in Lahore by PTI Punjab.
Therefore, FIA issued a legal notice for inquiry to PTI leadership but they refused to accept the notice, FIA replied.
It told the LHC that an inquiry under the Banking Act, 1974, is being conducted by the Commercial Bank Circle, FIA.
