The government has decided to appoint new trade officers abroad and in this regard the prime minister has approved the process of appointing new trade officers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to sources, policy guidelines have been approved for the appointment of trade officers.
Sources said that trade officers will be appointed on the vacancies that fall vacant in the next one year.
Trade officers will be appointed abroad on the vacancies of grades 18 to 21.
New trade officers will be appointed in Los Angeles, Beijing, Paris, Istanbul, Brussels, Dhaka, Dushanbe, Doha and Frankfurt.
Sources said 10 percent quota has been allocated for the private sector and overseas Pakistanis in the appointments.
Candidates for appointments will have to undergo a written examination and interviews.
New trade officers will be appointed abroad for three years.
