The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s former lawmakers, worried over the double expenditure to be incurred on by-elections and then general polls, have approached the PTI’s central leadership seeking monetary support to contest elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
They have asked the central leadership to bear the expenses to be incurred on by-elections. The PTI MNAs take the plea that they have to contest by-elections and then general elections which will put extra financial burden on them so the party should bear the financial expenses on by-polls.
However, the sources said, the party leadership has rejected their demand saying the candidates will themselves bear their expenses.
The party’s high command said that if any candidate is unable to contest by-election, he should tell the party in plain words and the leadership will nominate some other candidate in his place.
In case if new candidate wins the election, the former MNA could be denied party ticket for next general elections.
