ECP warns of legal action over election campaign after midnight

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that the election campaign for the upcoming polls will end at 12 o'clock tonight, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a statement issued by the ECP, no one will be allowed to attend or participate in any campaign activity after the deadline. Anyone who violates Section 182 of the Elections Act, 2017 will face legal action.
The statement also said that after 12:00 p.m. today, February 6, any election-related material, such as posters, banners, advertisements, or leaflets that supports or opposes any candidate is prohibited from being displayed on electronic and print media.
The media can start broadcasting the results of the polls after one hour of the end of voting, but they must clearly state that these results are unofficial and not final.
The Returning Officers will release the ongoing and complete non-final results of the polling stations, the statement added. The media must follow the code of conduct during the election process, and any violation will be reported to PEMRA and PTA for legal action.
