The runway at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport was reopened for the landing of flights on Friday evening after remaining shut for five hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Several flights were delayed, a few cancelled and six were not allowed to touch down at Lahore Airport after the runway became slippery due to uninterrupted heavy rain all day along.

Three of the six flights have started to hover over the airport while the other three were diverted to Islamabad International Airport.

According to the sources, flight SV-734 coming from Jeddah, flight KU-203 coming from Kuwait and flight EK-624 were not allowed to land at the Lahore Airport, but they were still in the skies.

The two international and one domestic flights which were diverted to Islamabad were flight PK-264 coming from Abu Dhabi, flight PK-9760 coming from Jeddah and flight PK-302 coming from Karachi.
