Smog delays 14 flights, cancels one at Lahore Airport

Dense smog and fog in and around Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Monday led to a delay in the departure and arrival of 14 domestic as well as international flights and the cancellation of one flight after the visibility at the airport’s runway was reduced to 350 meters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, from Damam to Lahore PK-248, was diverted towards Islamabad airport.
PK-739, PIA’s Jeddah-bound flight, was delayed by five hours.
Similarly, SriLankan Airlines flight UL-154, from Lahore to Colombo, was delayed by six hours, while the airline’s flight from Colombo to Lahore-UL-153 was five hours and 35 minutes behind schedule.
Serene Air’s Jeddah-bound flight ER-821 was delayed by over three hours, while the airline’s flight from Jeddah to Lahore, ER-822 was late by three hours and 45 minutes.
AirSial’s Jeddah to Lahore flight, PF-717, was three hours behind schedule, while the airline’s flight from Karachi to Lahore PF-141 was late by one hour and 45 minutes.
The only flight that was cancelled was Airblue’s Karachi-bound flight, PA-401.
Fly Jinnah’s Karachi to Lahore flight, 9P-840 was delayed by one-and-a-half-hour.
Passengers were advised to seek flight information from their concerned airlines before coming to the airport.
