In another blow to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), its founding member and former MNA from Karachi Eng Najeeb Haroon on Saturday announced joining Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), reported the 24NewsHd TV channel.
In 2020, Najeeb Haroon resigned from the membership of parliament citing his inability to take any steps for the betterment of his constituency, Karachi’s NA 256, or the overall city.
Najib Haroon, who previously distanced himself from PTI after the May 9 incident, recently arrived at MQM's central election office.
There, he held meetings with MQM's convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senior Deputy Convener Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar, and members of the coordination committee.
Following discussions, Najib Haroon formally announced his inclusion in MQM.
Notably, he currently serves as the Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council.
This decision by Najib Haroon has been warmly welcomed by MQM leaders and activists.
The MQM convener expressed optimism, anticipating Haroon's valuable contribution to the progress and prosperity of the country through his association with MQM.
The development was also shared by MQM-P senior leader Faisal Sabzwari on his official X handle.
Former SVP of @PTIofficial & MNA Najeeb Haroon joins @MQMPKOfficial.
