Motorways M-2, M-3, M-4 and M-11 closed due to dense fog

Motorway police announced closure of Motorway M-2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, M-3 from Lahore to Abdul Hakeem and M-4 from Pindi Bhatian to Faisalabad while Motorway M-11 from Lahore to Sialkot for all kinds of traffic to due thick fog that engulfed the entire areas on early morning of Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Motorway police spokesman Syed Imran Ahmad said that dense fog gripped the National Highway from Thokar Niaz Baig, Pattoki, Okara and Sahiwal.
He further clarified that Motorway Police decided to close Motorways for safety and security of the passengers.
He said that some time violation of lane in fog become main reason of any accident. He advised drivers to adopt lane discipline during fog and prefer to travel during daytime between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Drivers should use front and back lights of their vehicle and keep a reasonable distance from other vehicle.
He said that any in case of any help and guidance, travelers should contact with Motorway Police on Helpline 130.
