Motorways closed at various sections due to fog in Punjab

Dense fog has covered the parts of Punjab prompting authorities to close various sections of motorways to ensure public safety, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to Motorway Police spokesperson visibility issues forced the closure of Multan motorway M5 from Sher Shah interchange Multan to Zahir Pir interchange.
M3 motorway has been closed from Samundri to Darkhana. M2 Motorways has been shut from Lahore to Sheikhupura.
Similarly, the M4 motorway has been closed between Shorkot and Gojra. Likewise M11 Sialkot motorways has been closed for traffic. Motorway Police spokesperson said motorways were closed to ensure safe travel for the public. Motorway police have advised motorists to prioritise travel during daylight hours, particularly between 10 am and 6 pm, during foggy weather conditions. Drivers were also urged to use fog lights for both front and rear visibility, avoid unnecessary travel, maintain appropriate distances from other vehicles, and reduce speed.
Motorways Police has advised travellers to keep their vehicles’ fog lights on along with double indicators for the entire journey on highways and motorways where fog had disrupted visibility level. He also advised commuters for continuous use of vehicles’ viper blades and keep a fair distance to avoid a collision.
