PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday dispelled the impression that the party’s talks with the government had stalled, adding that two meetings had already been held while the third one would be held as well, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said it was PTI leaders’ demand that they be allowed to meet former prime minister and the party founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. “It would have been better if we had been allowed to meet today. When there were no issues with our first meeting with Imran, why now.”

He said he was hopeful that the PTI-government talks would succeed.

Barrister Gohar also dispelled the impression that a delay in the pronouncement of the verdict in the 190 million pounds case (Al-Qadir Trust case) was the consequence of any deal.  “This case is fake. In fact, all cases filed against the PTI founder are part of a political witch-hunt.”

The reason, the PTI chairman went on to say, the decision in the case had not been pronounced as yet was that those in the corridors of power wanted to put pressure on the party. “But they are mistaken that they can browbeat the party in this way,” he added.

PTI MNA and Opposition leader in National Assembly Omar Ayub has said that on the very enxt day of talks with the government, PTI demanded that their negotiation committee should be allowed to meet Imran Khan in jail without the presence of the agencies officials.

He lamented that the government has not accepted their demand thill today. Omar Ayub demanded of the government to arrange their meeting with Imran Khan without hurdles. He said PTI will not bear the interference of their officials.

He demanded judicial commission on May 9 and November 26 incidents to ascertain the facts.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that Imran Khan has made it clear that first he would seek the release of his workers and at the end Imran Khan will come out of jail. Salman Raja said Imran Khan wanted the release of all PTI workers. He said the government has to answer questions about atrocities. He said rule of aggression should come to an end and rule of law should be established.

He said that was the reason PTI was taking part in talks with the government. Salman Raja said dictators come and go but era of aggression and force can not run for long time.

Senator Shibli Faraz said that Imran Khan and his wife has not taken personal benefits in Al Qadir Trust case. He said PTI was denied right to fair trial.

He said the government was trampling rules and regulations and announced verdicts against PTI leaders and workers. Shibli Faraz claimed that the government cannot side line the most popular party in the country.
