Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti has become Prime Minister Imran Khan's special assistant on reconciliation and harmony in Balochistan, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday. As the PM aide, the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief will be enjoying the status of a federal minister.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti his special assistant on reconciliation and harmony in Balochistan with immediate effect, said a notification issued by the federal cabinet division.
The grandson of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, who was killed in an operation in the Gen Musharraf regime, was elected from NA-259 Dera Bugti in 2018.
The development comes a day after Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said efforts to woo 'disgruntled Balochs are on'.
Reaching out to the estranged Balochs is Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision, the minister said in a media briefing on the federal cabinet meeting with PM Imran Khan in the chair.
A couple of days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan hinted at holding talks with estranged Balochs. “I have been thinking about talking to them,” said Imran Khan.
