A Pakistan People’s Party worker from Mardan has filed a petition against American blogger Cynthia D Ritchie who recently levelled serious allegations against senior PPP leaders, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Interestingly the applicant’s name mentioned in the case was Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, apparently named after charismatic PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto is PPP General Secretary from PK-50 constituency from Mardan District. He pleaded in his application that the foreign lady has used derogatory remarks against Pakistan’s and Muslim world’s first-ever woman Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The application has been filed at Chora Police Station, Mardan urging for filing of an FIR under Section 164.
These developments come at a time when Cynthia Ritchie had taken Pakistan’s political scene by storm with putting PPP leadership in an embarrassing situation and left them red-faced by putting allegations of sexual harassment against them. These allegations come at a time when the once the most popular political party of the country is facing already a stern challenge to stay in the mainstream and trying to win over its vote bank through the launching of the third generation of the Bhuttos.
