Bridge collapse in GB leaves thousands stranded at Karakoram Highway 

Thousands of tourists were stranded at Karakoram Highway connecting Gilgit to Hunza on Saturday after the Hassanabad bridge collapsed on account of the melting of Shishper glacier, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Following the incident, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government ordered the concerned departments to take immediate steps for the repair of the bridge.   

Only yesterday, the GBDMA had issued an alert about the possible flooding of water drains in the region.
